Traditional Chinese Face Reading observes that conditions that adversely impact the kidneys include: overwork, stress, sedentary life style, alcohol, recreational drug use, coffee or other stimulants, and overconsumption of raw and/or cold foods and beverages. Note: If your under eye facial indicators are more pronounced on one side, it means that the kidney on the opposite side is less balanced. Also, by tracking the area under your eyes you can literally see when your good efforts are paying off. Basic self-care often resolves health symptoms. Knowing that your kidneys are inviting support is your first step in healing as it points you to relevant remedies. This does not mean you’ve a kidney stone! As we age, so do our kidneys, and discoloration and texture irregularities will develop. In the young, ideally the eye region skin has normal tone and even color. Take a look in the mirror or, better yet, study your own photo. Now let’s apply what we’ve learned to a self-study. Face Reading Payoffįor seeing “under the skin,” Face Reading is impressive and substantiates Bronwyn’s experience. Perhaps this is from the new stone that she feels is forming? Or perhaps the inflammation from the first stone isn’t completely quelled? Had we a sequence of her photos over several months, we could better ascertain. That Bronwyn’s right under eye is more pink suggests inflammation of the left kidney. When a stone irritates the kidney or ureter, inflammation results. In Face Reading, blue discoloration points to a kidney system imbalance, and pink in any location (except the cheeks of the young) often signifies inflammation. Furthermore, under the inner eye corner, we see a dramatic contrast of pale blue bordered on one side by pink. We’ll ignore the apparent mascara smudge on the left, whereas under the right, it is generally more pink. That she noted water retention a few weeks following the kidney stone makes a strong case that the two are related. In comparison, the puffiness on the right is uninterrupted, more pervasive and even extends above her eye. If we were to fill in Bronwyn’s two hollows, this would, overall, level her right eye region. If we were to fill in the creek, its banks would disappear. As an analogy, imagine how the banks of a creek cutting through a meadow progressively increase. But that’s a misperception caused by the two dark, crescent-shaped creases, also called hollows.** The skin surrounding these two indentations juts or puffs out. Under eye tone and color irregularities Eye Region Toneīronwyn further reports, “If I press near the outside corner of my right eye, the puffiness sticks out.”Īt first glance, it appears that she’s more puffy under her left eye. The right eye area corresponds to the left kidney and vice versa. With any kidney issue, you’ll see facial irregularities in the eye region and especially under the eye ( see: Under Eye Problems). There are multiple causes of kidney stones as well as water retention (edema), and you can have one without the other. It’s a little upsetting, and nothing seems to help. I’d never ever noticed it before, and I’m very observant of my face. In this Mini Face Reading we’ll examine two facial indicators that indicate kidney issues and how to prevent them.Ī few weeks after passing a stone from her left kidney, Bronwyn noticed: “Now I’m always puffy under my eyes, especially on my right side.* It feels like fluid retention. While an ultrasound is one scope for assessing kidney health, Face Reading is another and you can do it yourself. Bronwyn, who suffered from a kidney stone four months ago, reports: “It feels like another one is forming.” Kidney stones cause intense, wincing pain and may require medical intervention.
